Tutorial - Betty Bikini Tag

Hi it's Amanda here with a Tutorial on how i made my Tag from one of our earlier Challenges.

First i coloured up Bikini Betty on the Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place using my Copics

Copics Used
Skin - E50, E51, E21, E11, E04
Hair - Y11, Y21, E55
Eyes - B000, B01, B12, B14
Bikini - BG10, BG32, BG15

Next i decided on what Design Papers i wanted to use.
Picked out a few Paper & Resin Flowers, Pearls, Gems to match & of course a That Craft Place Chipboard Tag.

Next i traced the shape of the Tag onto my Design Paper & cut that out.
Also cut 2 smaller rectangles from the other papers plus 2 pieces for matting & layering the image onto.
Now you want to rough all of the edges of the paper & around the image. To do this i used a special little distressing tool but if you don't have one you can use a pair of blunt scissors and scrape down the edges.
Don't worry if you tear any of the edges as it still looks fine and adds more of a rustic look to it.
Next i used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad on the rough edges in Brushed Corduroy to highlight those rough edges.
Next i cut out some shapes with Dies

Next Glue the piece what you cut in the shape of the tag onto your Chipboard Tag.
I used Cosmic Shimmer Glue as this is super strong and grabs instantly and dries fast so there is no waiting for the paper to dry to carry on with the next step.
Using a mixture of Tim Holtz & Graphic 45 Rubber Stamps & using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in the Brushed Corduroy i stamped around the tag.

Next mat & layer the image onto the 2 smaller pieces of paper.
Now just play around with the other pieces of paper what are cut out until your happy with how they look and glue down.
Next glue the piece with the image down and then begin layering up the die cuts and the Paper & Resin Flowers.
Then add the Pearls, Gems & tie some Organza Ribbon & Twine through the hole at the top of the Tag.

Here it is all finished.

Here's a couple of close up photo's to show the stamping & flowers.

The Greyboard Tags measures 17.05cm x 9cm so is a great size for making a fun project with or maybe use 2 and make a mini album with them.
Now there's an idea for a future project so you may see me back soon once i have some more of these great Tags.

I hope you have enjoyed my Tutorial and would love to hear what you think to it.
Hugs Amanda x

Angela's Steampunk Tutorial

It's DT member Angela here and I have a Tutorial on how to make this Greyboard Steampunk style frame.

This is how I made it.
Started with a Steampunk cog frame set from That Craft Place which is available here.
It comes like this:

First I cut several extra cogs using Tim Holtz dies and a large one for the centre.

Once everything was prepared I started to build up the design by applying Embossing Paste and Glass Bead Texture Gel through a stencil onto the back section.
This stencil is the one I used and it is available from That Craft Place.

Next I glued down the cogs and covered everything with Gesso, when that was dry, started adding the colour.
Before applying the top frame section I added treasure Gold gilding wax which makes the colour and detail really pop.

Gradually I attached more cogs to the top and added crackle glaze, building up the design.

I also included some metal embellishments to complete the look.

I do hope you enjoyed watching me make this.
If you can, please leave me a comment as I would love to hear what you think.
